Waiting

Sitting in the old well house

it waited and waited

for years and years had went by

the back side was lower on one side

and some parts were missing

yet it waited and waited

there were signs of rust

and some paint was needed

for years and years had come and gone

it was in the back hidden

it waited and waited

finally the day had come

new tires made it level again

fresh new paint made it shine

all the missing pieces made it whole

it waited and waited

once it was loved by a little girl

all those years ago

but still it waited and waited

the little girl was all grown now

to big to ride

but still it waited and waited

for the little one to arrive

a few years would have to past by

but it would wait and wait

for the little one

whose mom it once belonged

to be born in April

and to wait and grow

and grow

NO DAVID

This is the beginning of week 8 in my daughters pregancy. The baby is now the lenght of a kidney bean, eyelids are almost covering her eyes or his. We went on a 4 wheeler trip today, the baby first trip. Jodi and Ashley on one and Larry and I on the other. JT is working today and Brandon has went home to be with his family. No work today because it is Labor Day..It has been a nice day. I am still looking for more books to add to my childrens library. Here is another set of books I want. The No David series. By David Shannon. These were another set of books small kids love. I also took a sign language class a couple of years ago and I signed No David. It was a lot of fun.

My Favorite Kids Books

I taught preschool for 12 years before I went into Special Education. I read a lot of books to my kiddoes and the one thing I learned was which ones would get their attention and which ones wouldn't. Robert Munsch being one of my favorite authors. Thomas' Snowsuit and Love you Forever being a couple of the best ones, but several really good books that young kids just love. I hope to buy his whole collection for my grandchild.

Pondering

I have this new blog and I am thinking what do I want to do with it. I think I will maybe write some poetry , short stories, put some photos on it, it is anyones guess.

The first thing will be a baby update. My daughter is almost 8 weeks pregnant. At 7 weeks, the baby is the size of a blueberry. The heartbeat can be heard. How can anyone abort and say this is not a baby when it has a heartbeat that can be heard????

I love to read!!! So the first thing I have been buying for my grandchild is books. I have a rubbermade container full. I hope to instill the love of the written word in this child..My grandmother read to my daughter all the time when she was a little girl. When she started school, she knew how to read. We did not even realize it, we thought she had memorized the books until one day when she read us something in the newspaper....

I hope to take things from my blog and put together for this child to be, so one day he or she will know that I already had fallen in love with him or her, even before they were the size of a blueberry:):):):):)
